The Phantoms had a Great game last night even if they didn’t win! We’ve had outstanding pitching from our starters the last 2 games. This was our first game on the softball diamond at Edmonds-Woodway High School. The entire field features Field-Turf which means the ball moves fast, so the defense needs the react quickly or the runners advance extra bases. We play 3 more times on this field.
Christian didn’t do much this game on both sides of the plate. He misplaced his athletic support and wore his plastic cup without it. I think it might have caused him to not play his best because he looked like he needed to go to the bathroom out on the field.
Zach pitched an awesome game. He’s finally starting to settle into pitching from the mound. This game was really a pitchers duel as it was a low scoring game.
When the other team managed to hit the ball, they hit it right to our rookies who didn’t make the right play. Can’t really fault them, but it’s cost us in every game so far. In this game Pacific Trust managed to get 2 inside the park home runs.
The fast field also caused problems for the other team as the Phantoms managed to steal home 3 times in the top of the 3rd inning. I did video the game, but I believe my battery died before that play. I’ll have to check when I have time to review.
Our next game is Saturday at 1:00 pm on Lynndale field 2 against former teammate Benji’s team Point B. See you there!
