The Phantoms regrouped after the loss to Distinctive Glass. This was a game to see if our non-regular pitching rotation could get another look.
I had held off putting Christian back on the mound until we could get his confidence back up. He was pretty excited to start the game. He had an awesome 1st inning pitching. The leadoff batter did manage to get a good hit off him, but he came back and struck the 2nd batter, got a grounder 1-3 for the 2nd out and a pop-up out the end the 1st. All in all he was responsible for 5 outs in the game.
Christian again was the leadoff hitter and struck out in the 1st. He was hit by a pitch in the 3rd and walked in the 4th. Not much going on batting side, but his pitching and defense was outstanding and got him his 2nd game ball of the season.
It was a closely matched game, but Wilcox was able to put a string of hits in the 5th inning for 5 runs. The Phantoms just didn’t get enough hits to get the win.
